Jan-Olov Kinnvall

Jan-Olov Kinnvall (actually Jan-Olov Kindvall , born May 8, 1960 ) is a former Swedish football player . The midfielder reached the final of the European Cup with Malmö FF .

Career

Kinnvall started playing football at Svenstorps IF . From there he moved to the youth of Malmö FF. During the 1978 season he moved up to the Allsvenskan first team squad , but still played mainly in the youth team. While he finished second with last year's champions in the league, he caused a sensation with the team in the 1978/79 European Cup . After successes over AS Monaco , Dynamo Kiev , Wisła Krakau and FK Austria Wien , he moved into the final with her. There he missed the first European Cup triumph for a Swedish club with the club, as the English representative Nottingham Forest was able to prevail with a 1-0 win through a goal from Trevor Francis . He was on the side of Tore Cervin , Staffan Tapper , Kent Jönsson and Ingemar Erlandsson for the entire season.

Kinnvall could not build on the success in his first two years in adult football. Due to injuries to his back and groin, he fell out for a long time. In 1983 he said goodbye after a total of 145 games from Malmö FF and joined the Lunds BK , who were playing in the lower class . Here he ended his active career after six seasons.

Subsequently, Kinnvall returned to Malmö FF in various positions. Initially he worked as a youth coach until he moved up in 2000 as Michael Andersson's assistant to the men's team, which at the time was second-rate. Later he also worked on an administrative level for the association.

Kinnvall was originally called Jan-Olof , but changed his first name to Jan-Olov . In public he was always referred to by the surname Kinnvall , but later he revealed his real name is Kindvall .
