Jan Kozák

Jan Kozák (born March 25, 1921 in Roudnice nad Labem , † May 5, 1995 in Prague ) was a Czech writer.

Life

In 1940 he passed the Abitur examination and worked after the Second World War as an employee and functionary in the cultural institutions of the Communist Party KSČ . In 1951 he graduated from the Central Political School and stood out as an apparatchik . In 1972 Kozák was elected to the board of the Association of Czech Writers ( Svaz českých spisovatelů ). He held this position until 1989.

He was one of those writers who were loyal to communist politics .

Works

His works reflect the politics and ideology of the communist party. He draws from personal experience of the collectivization of the villages in Slovakia, in which he himself participated. In addition, he also described his hunting experiences in the taiga in several books .
