Jan Michel (born June 26, 1964 ) is a former German soccer player.

Career

In the area of ​​the GDR Football Association (DFV) he played for Halleschen FC Chemie, Chemie Wolfen and Dynamo Eisleben. At HFC Chemie he played in 1983/84 and 1987/88 in the highest DFV league, the Oberliga, and in 1984/85, 1985/86, 1986/87 in the GDR league. With Dynamo Eisleben , he also played in the GDR league, the second highest DFV division, in 1989/90.

Michel played from 1977 to 1988 at HFC Chemie. He went through the youth teams of the HFC as a student at the children's and youth sports school "Friedrich Engels". The 3rd place at the GDR junior championships in football was his greatest success in the youth field.

In 1983 he made the leap into the first men's team of the HFC, rose with the HFC in 1984 from the league again. The recovery was missed for two years. Here Jan Michel played in attacking midfield and scored 17 goals in the two league years. In the 1986/87 promotion season he was only used occasionally. In the upper division 1987/88 he was able to successfully complete a few games in the second half of the season.

This was followed by a move to Chemie Wolfen for a year. The upcoming army service ensured a change to Dynamo Eisleben. Here Michel only played until the winter break and scored five goals for Eisleben in the GDR league.

After the reunification , Michel played in the Landesliga NRW at Niederschelden / Gosenbach and from 1992 to 1993 in the Wartburg city of Eisenach in the Thuringia League. After several major injuries, Jan Michel ended his active career as a football player. He still plays in senior football with the old men and worked part-time as a coach.
