"Sunbeam for Heilbronn" on the Wartberg tower in Heilbronn

Jan van Munster (* 1939 in Gorinchem ) is a Dutch artist .

The main theme of his work is energy of all kinds, be it radioactivity or the power of the sun. He often illustrates tensions and opposites, for example between heat and cold, in clear geometric shapes.

Van Munster's works can also be seen frequently in public spaces in Germany.

In Ludwigshafen am Rhein, for example, he equipped the Sparkasse Vorderpfalz with light installations; His sunbeam for Heilbronn is mounted on the Heilbronn Wartberg tower. In 2004 he had the 22 m high blade of grass built with a lot of energy at the motorway junction near Ede , a galvanized steel construction, illuminated by fluorescent lamps.
