Jana Haas (swimmer)

Jana Haas (born September 20, 1975 in Erfurt ) is a German swimmer and Olympic participant. The 1.72 m tall athlete started for TSV Erfurt .

She was able to place herself at German championships several times:

  • 200 m individual medley: 1992 and 1993 runner-up
  • 400 m medley: 1991 3rd place, 1992 champion, 1993 runner-up

She started on both routes at the 1992 Olympic Games in Barcelona and achieved the following results:

  • 200 m individual medley: In the preliminary run she was tenth in 2: 17.74 minutes and thus qualified for the B final. With a repetition of this time, she would have won the B final and placed 8th in the A final. However, she only swam 2: 20.94 minutes and was last.
  • 400 m medley: In 4: 49.93 minutes she qualified as eleventh of the prelims for the B final. There it increased to 4: 47.74 minutes and won. Had she succeeded in this time in advance, she would have qualified for the A-final and finished 7th there.
