Jane Danson

Jane Danson (born November 8, 1978 in Bury , Greater Manchester , England ) is a British actress best known for her role as Leanne Battersby on the ITV soap opera Coronation Street .

life and career

At the age of twelve Danson made her television debut in 1991 under the name Jane Dawson in the Alan Bleasdale series GBH in the role of Eileen Critchley . From 1996 to 1998 she played the main character Cherry in the British children's television sitcom Out of Tune . She later appeared as Paula in the television series Children's Ward . Danson starred in the ITV soap opera Coronation Street from 1997 to 2000 and returned to the show in 2007. In 2011 she was awarded a prize for best dramatic performance. In 2018 she starred in the short film Sorceress, which won the title "Best of the Fest Short Short" at the LA Indie Film Fest .

She has been married to former Brookside actor Robert Beck since 2005 . The couple met at the 1999 British Soap Awards . On July 14, 2006, Danson had their first son. Three years later, on February 26th, 2009, their second son was born. In 2014 she suffered a miscarriage .
