Jang Bogo Station
The Jang Bogo Station ( kor .: 장보고 과학 기지, Jangbogo Gwahak Giji ) is a South Korean research station in the Antarctic . It is located in Terra Nova Bay on the Victoria Land coast . The station named after Jang Bogo (787-846), a Korean admiral of the 9th century, was commissioned on February 5, 2014 and is the second Antarctic research station in South Korea after the King Sejong Station .
The station consists of 16 buildings and can accommodate up to 60 people. It is operated all year round. The Italian Mario Zucchelli station is nearby .
