Jannis Bishop

Jannis Bischof (* 1978 ) is a German economist and professor of business administration . He is professor of general business administration and corporate accounting at the University of Mannheim .

Life

Jannis Bischof completed his A-levels at the Kiel School of Academics in 1998 and then began studying business administration at the University of Passau. After a stay abroad in 2001 at the University of Lund, Sweden, Jannis Bischof switched to main studies at the University of Mannheim, where he graduated in 2004 with a degree in business administration. He was the best of the year there. From 2004 to 2008 he did his doctorate with Jens Wüstemann at the University of Mannheim. During his doctorate, he completed two research stays at Harvard University and at the "ESSEC Business School" in Paris . Jannis Bischof was a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Mannheim from 2009 to 2012 and at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business from 2012 to 2013. He then was visiting professor at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business from 2013 to 2014. From June 2014 to 2015, he took over the Helaba Endowed Professorship for Finance & Accounting at Goethe University Frankfurt . Jannis Bischof has been professor of general management and accounting at the University of Mannheim since August 2015. Jannis Bischof also teaches at the Mannheim Business School , the organizational umbrella for management training at the University of Mannheim. In addition to his academic work, Jannis Bischof is a member of the European Financial Reporting Advisory Group .

Jannis Bischof's research focuses on the areas of Financial Reporting and Disclosure, Empirical Accounting Research, Accounting for Financial Instruments and Financial Institutions.
