from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Nihon Jidōsha Kōgyōkai ( Japanese 一般 社 団 法人 日本 自動 車 工業 会 Ippan Shadan Hōjin ~ , German 'Regular legal entity Japanese Automobile Industry Association' , short: Jikōkai , 自 工会 , English Japan Automobile Manufacturers Association , short: JAMA) is the association of Japanese automobile manufacturers, based in Tokyo (Shiba-Daimon, Minato District , Tokyo Prefecture ). In contrast to the VDA , for example , which suppliers can also join, the focus of the JAMA is limited to vehicle manufacturers as members.

Founded in April 1967, it serves as a platform for the exchange of pre-competitive information regarding technology and management practices. 14 companies are currently members of JAMA - not only automobile manufacturers, but also truck and motorcycle manufacturers.
