Heinrich von See (* before 1389 , † after 1428 ) was a bishop of Schleswig .

Live and act

Heinrich von See came from a family belonging to the Holstein nobility. In 1389 he had a position as provost in the Schleswig chapter. Together with the cathedral chapter, which had allied itself with the Holstein counts in a dispute with King Erich of Pomerania , he took action against Bishop Johann Skondelev , who was politically on the side of the Danes.

After Skondelev's death, the Chapter of See elected bishop , despite protests from Archbishop Peder Lykke . Pope Martin V confirmed the election on December 17, 1421. When King Sigismund was heard in 1423 , von See prepared documents and legal certificates for the sons of the Duke of Schleswig to help them.

Since he was sick, very old and blind, von See received help from archdeacon and coadjutor Erich Dozenrode from 1424 onwards. In 1425 two members of the Schleswig Chapter represented him at a provincial synod in Copenhagen . Von See's service as bishop ended at the turn of the year 1428/29.
