Japan Electronic Industry Development Association

The Japan Electronic Industry Development Association ( Japanese 社 団 法人 日本 電子 工業 振興 協会 , Shadan-hōjin Nihon Denshi Kyōgyō Shinkō Kyōkai , JEIDA ) was an industrial association for research and development and an electronics standardization body in Japan. It was founded in 1958 and merged with the Electronic Industries Association of Japan (EIAJ) on November 1, 2000 to form the Japan Electronics and Information Technology Industries Association (JEITA). Similar institutions are SEMTEC (USA) and Ecma International (Europe).

JEIDA develops a number of standards, including the JEIDA memory card and the Exif file format for digital cameras .
