Jardines de la Reina ( German "Gardens of the Queen" ) is an archipelago in southern Cuba in the provinces of Camagüey and Ciego de Ávila . It was named by Christopher Columbus in honor of the Spanish Queen Isabellas the Catholic .
The archipelago is located in the Caribbean Sea at 20 ° 50 'N and 78 ° 55' W and is a popular destination for divers and fishermen. It includes around 660 coral islands . These include Cayo Bretón , Cayo Alcatráz , Cayo Grande , Cayo Caballones and Cayo Anclitas . Large parts of the archipelago are part of the Cuban National Park Parque Nacional Jardines de la Reina .
