EcuRed aims to propagate the worldview of the Cuban regime. The content often relates to the Cuban revolution and is written from an anti-capitalist perspective. The first president of Cuba after the revolution, Manuel Urrutia , is described as "tactless", "opportunistic", "conservative" and "confused". Other heroes of the revolution, such as General Arnaldo Ochoa , who later fell out of favor and was shot dead , are not mentioned in detail. The EcuRed category "Terrorism against Cuba" contains articles about the internationally awarded Cuban human rights organization Damas de Blanco and other opposition figures.
