Jarilo (god)
Jarilo ( Russian : Ярило) or Jarovit , also Yarilo is in Slavic mythology the son of Perun, the god of thunder, and his wife, the goddess Mokosch.
His animal shape is a horse and he is associated with the color green (vegetation).
He comes from afar in the annual cycle, fiery and wet Ganges, to unite with his sister Mara / Morana in holy marriage and thereby unleash fertility in spring. His Christian interpretation is St. George and St. John , whose festive days fall in accordance with the calendar of the vegetation and ripening cycles that recur every year.
