Jaroslava Pokorná

Jaroslava Pokorná (born August 2, 1946 in Prague ) is a Czech actress .

Life

Jaroslava Pokorná is the daughter of the dramaturge Jaroslav Pokorný. Her brother is the actor and theater director Ivan Pokorný. She studied twice at the Theater Faculty of the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague . From 1963 to 1968 she successfully completed her acting studies and in 1999 she received her degree in dramaturgy. Pokorná was able to establish herself as a theater actress during her acting studies and played in theaters such as the Švandovo divadlo na Smíchově or the Divadlo v Řeznické .

She also made her screen debut during her studies. In 1965 she played the supporting role of Olina in the drama Sedm zabitých directed by Pavel Kohout . Since then she has appeared in over 70 film and television productions, including Death is Picky , Fists in the Dark and Sex in Brno . For her two performances in Snot Boy and Burning Bush - The Heroes of Prague she was nominated for Best Supporting Actress for a Český lev , whereby she also won the latter.
