The station designed by the architects Lemoyne, Bland, Edwards & Shine was created in the form of a tunnel station . The walls of the platforms are made of gray ceramic discs, the floors of brown bricks. The access tunnel at the northern end is visually much more interesting. It has a vaulted ceiling with diamond-shaped elements that are illuminated by fluorescent tubes. The entrance area, painted in bright basic colors, is integrated into the ground floor of an apartment block.

The platform level with two side platforms is at a depth of 12.2 meters . The distances to the neighboring stations, measured from station end to station start, are 977.10 meters to Jean-Talon and 825.60 meters to Crémazie . There are connections to two bus lines and a night bus line of the Société de transport de Montréal . Nearby is the Parc Jarry .

history

The station opened on October 14, 1966, along with the Place-d'Armes - Henri-Bourassa section of the orange line. Jarry is part of the basic network of the Montreal Metro. A little more than four years earlier, on May 23, 1962, the groundbreaking ceremony for the entire metro network took place here. Name giver is the Rue Jarry, named after Bernard Bleignier dit Jarry. In 1700 he was awarded a plot of land on which the village of Saint-Laurent was later built .
