Jatra , also Yatra , Sanskrit यात्रा , yātrā (jātra), "procession", "pilgrimage", from the root yā , "to go", in South Asia denotes a public religious festival with a procession or one performed outdoors on this and other occasions , entertaining or ritual dance theater.
