Jau (South Kordofan)

Jau is a city in Janub Kurdufan . Whether it belongs to the national territory of Sudan or South Sudan is controversial.

history

In February 2012, the SPLM-N conquered the village. Units of the Movement for Justice and Equality (JEM) also took part in the attack . This was the first time that joint operations by the Darfur and Kurdufan rebels were officially confirmed. According to the Sudanese government, the fighters were commanded by officers from the South Sudanese government.
