Jauch (unit)

Jauch was a Tyrolean square measure and in other regions the abbreviation for Juchart , Jauchard, Joch, Jeuch, Juch or just a term for morning or day's work - actually the area that could be worked with a yoke of oxen in one day. The field or land size was quite different, but can be calculated in the size of a morning , and in

  • Innsbruck 1 Jauch = 1000 square fathoms (Viennese)
    • 8 Jauch = 5 yoke (Wiener)
  • Bozen 1 Jauch = 1202 square fathoms (Viennese)
    • 4 Bozener Jauch = 3 Joch (Viennese)
