JavaOne is an annual conference launched by Sun Microsystems in 1996 to discuss Java technologies, primarily among Java developers. JavaOne is held in San Francisco and usually runs Sunday through Friday. During the day there are mainly technical lectures on a range of different topics, in the evening so-called Birds of a Feather (BOF) lectures are held. BOF lectures allow one to focus on a specific aspect of Java technology.

Access to technical lectures, keynote presentations, exhibitions and BOF lectures is only possible upon presentation of a conference ID. This costs between 1795 and 1995 USD.
