Java APIs for Integrated Networks
Java APIs for Integrated Networks (JAIN) is a collection of APIs based on Java technology that enable access to telephone and data networks. The company Sun Microsystems initiated this expansion of the Java platform in 1998 in order to be able to develop network services more quickly and easily. The JAIN Initiative, in which various providers from the telecommunications sector have come together, monitors the interface that is defined by the Java Specification Requests (JSR) in the Java Community Process (JCP).
