Java User Group

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A Java User Group , or JUG for short , is a group of Java users who want to exchange information about Java.

The User Group usually meets at regular intervals to discuss Java-specific topics. Due to the mostly regional orientation, those interested in Java have the opportunity to meet like-minded people close to their place of residence. As a rule, specialist lectures and regular get-togethers are offered. In addition to face-to-face meetings, a website and a mailing list are common mediums for exchange .

A good JUG is particularly characterized by its independence and charitable status. Java User Groups are often sponsored by corporations to fund your meetings. Furthermore, there is often direct contact with institutions.
