Javorinka is a district of Galanta in western Slovakia , it is located three kilometers southwest of the center of Galanta.

history

The present part of the city emerged from the village of Štefánikovo , founded in 1921 by Slovak settlers from the northern Waag Valley , who chose the place name after the Czechoslovak politician Milan Rastislav Štefánik . The settlement was built on the corridors of the Matúškovo municipality , and Štefánikovo only became independent in 1936. In 1960 the place lost its independence and was annexed to the city of Galanta, its name later changed to Javorinka .
