Jay Conrad Levinson (* 1933 in Detroit ; † October 10, 2013 ) was an American management consultant and "spiritual father" of guerrilla marketing .

He was the founder of the international Guerrilla Marketing Association, coach and specialist author of many books on the subject of guerrilla marketing, which have appeared in many languages. His first book was published in 1984, entitled Guerrilla Marketing Handbook , and it has been translated into 37 languages. In addition to his books, he worked as a management consultant. Prior to founding his own company, he was Vice President at J. Walter Thompson and Creative Director at several advertising agencies including Leo Burnett Advertising .

In America, smaller companies in particular found themselves in a corporate crisis during the 1980s . In order to combat this crisis, Jay Conrad Levinson revived the basic idea of guerrilla marketing . It is thanks to him that the guerrilla marketing strategy has regained greater popularity.
