Jay J. Armes
Jay J. Armes (born August 12, 1932 in Ysleta , Texas ; actually Julian Armas ) is an American private detective .
At the age of twelve, he lost both hands in a dynamite explosion . Since then it has been carrying two controllable hooks in its place. He decided to become a private detective despite his disability. He was well known in the 1970s and an action figure was designed after him. For a time he was considered one of the most successful private detectives in the world. He starred in several television series, including Mannix and Hawaii Five-Zero , and was even supposed to get his own series in 1993, which was never realized.
The achievements ascribed to him include the discovery and liberation of the kidnapped Christian Brando , son of Marlon Brando , in 1972.
