Jay Rifkin

Jay Rifkin (* 1955 ) is a British-American film producer and former managing director of Hans Zimmer's studio Media Ventures, which specializes in film music .

At the beginning of the 1970s he met the German in England and was - like him - fascinated by the local music scene. After playing together in various bands, they founded their own studio in Brighton. However, while Zimmer stayed in England (and landed the hit video killed the Radio Star with The Buggles ), Rifkin immigrated to the USA a few years later to produce and compose in Miami, New York and Los Angeles. On the occasion of the film project Rain Man , however, the two found each other again and founded Media Ventures after the success of the music ( Oscar nomination) and the subsequent demand for their services .

In 2003, Rifkin filed charges against Zimmer for "conspiracy to run the business alone". Zimmer then founds the Remote Control Productions studio .
