Jean-Marc Laforêt

Jean-Marc Laforêt (born May 29, 1954 ) is a French ambassador .

Life

Jean-Marc Laforêt studied at the École nationale d'administration and worked from 1981 to 1984 for the Ministry of Leisure, Youth and Sports. In 1989 he received his doctorate on the subject of "Liberté-Égalité-Fraternité". In February 1989 he was employed in the Central America Department of the Quai d'Orsay . From 1989 to 1991 he was second class embassy secretary in Buenos Aires . In 1991 he was employed in the Africa department of the Quai d'Orsay. From 1992 to 1995 he was first class embassy secretary in Brasília . From 1995 to 1998 he was second class counselor in Moscow . From 1998 to 2001 he was Deputy Head of the South America Department at the Quai d'Orsay. From 2001 to 2005 he had exequatur as consul general of São Paulo . On April 30, 2002 he was accepted into the Ordre national du Mérite . From 2005 to 2009 he was Deputy Head of America and the Caribbean Department on the Quai. Since September 2009 he has been ambassador to Caracas , Venezuela .
