Jean-Marie Cremer

Jean-Marie Cremer (born August 25, 1945 in Cherain in the Ardennes ) is a Belgian civil engineer.

Cremer studied civil engineering at the University of Liège (diploma 1968) and was a consulting engineer specializing in bridge construction. In 1973 he joined René Greisch's engineering office in Liège ( Bureau d'Études Greisch ) and became its CEO .

His over 60 bridges (up to 2005) include the Sart Canal Bridge in Belgium and the Ben-Ahin Bridge near Huy in Belgium, the Viaduc de l'Eau Rouge , and he was significantly involved in the Viaduc de Millau , which set several records holds, highest bridge, longest cycle feed, highest auxiliary supports.

In 2009 he received the Albert Caquot Prize and in 2005 the International Award of Merit in Structural Engineering . He is a member of the Royal Belgian Academy and honorary professor at the University of Liège.
