Jean-Paul Giachino (born January 3, 1963 ) is a French biathlon coach and former French biathlete who took part in the 1988 Winter Olympics in Calgary .

At the Olympic Games Giachino finished 18th in the individual and was tenth in the relay race with Éric Claudon , Hervé Flandin and Francis Mougel . After his active career he became a coach, until the 2006/07 season he was the French head coach for men. He was succeeded by Stéphane Bouthiaux , he himself switched to the position of shooting coach for men. After Siegfried Mazet later became the men's shooting coach, Giachino switched to the women's shooting coach, whose World Cup team he was in charge of until 2018. Since then he has held the same position in the IBU Cup . For the 2020/21 season , he returned to the post of shooting coach for the women's World Cup team as the successor to Franck Badiou .
