Ioannis Georgios Karatzas
Prince Ioannis Georgios Karatzas ( Greek Ἰωάννης Γεώργιος Καρατζάς ; Romanian: Ioan Gheorghe Caragea; French: Jean Georges Caradja; * 1754; † 1844) was ruler of Wallachia from 1812 to 1818 . The prince came from the Phanariotic noble family Caradja . As a member of the Filiki Eteria , he supported the Greek struggle for independence from Ottoman rule. After his removal in 1818, Ioannis Georges Caradja went into exile in Italy with his nephew, Prince Alexandros Mavrokordatos .
