Jean Rigal (politician)

Jean Rigal (born June 28, 1931 in Rodez , Aveyron département; † February 8, 2015 ibid) was a French politician .

The physician Jean Rigal was elected in a by-election on November 30, 1980 as the successor to the retired Robert Fabre for the Parti radical de gauche (PRG) in the French National Assembly. From 1980 to 2002 he was a member of the second electoral district of the Aveyron department for a period of six terms , most recently he had joined the group of the Radical-citoyen-vert (RCV). In Parliament he was a member of the Defense Committee from 1986 to 1993, the Committee on Foreign Affairs from 1998 to 2001 and the Finance Committee from 1997 to 2002. Rigal was from 1981 mayor of the municipality of Villefranche-de-Rouergue .
