Jean Vauquelin de La Fresnaye (* 1536 in La Fresnaye-au-Sauvage ; † 1606, 1607 or 1608 in Caen ) was a French poet .

Jean Vauquelin de La Fresnaye studied classical literature in Paris and law in Poitiers and Bourges . He took part in the Huguenot Wars and was wounded at Saint-Lô in 1574 . Fresnaye was a student of Pierre de Ronsard .

In 1555 he published his first volume of poetry, Les Foresteries .
