Jehan Daniel

Jehan Daniel (* around 1480 in Poitou , † around 1550 in Angers ) was a French organist and composer.

Nothing is known about his youth and education. In 1524 he was appointed organist at Angers Cathedral , which he held until 1540.

He created a number of sacred chansons and some Christmas carols, which became very famous for their use of melodies from folk music.
