The Jelcz P-01 was a bus trailer from the Polish commercial vehicle manufacturer Jelcz . It was produced in the 1960s.

In the 1950s and 1960s, numerous trailers for passenger transport were developed. With them it was possible to increase the transport capacity at peak times without having to procure heavier and more expensive buses that could not be used to full capacity at all times. In addition, there were size restrictions for buses in many countries, which set limits to the increase in passenger capacity.

The Jelcz P-01 was based on the Jelcz 043 bus . The front and rear were identical, but the chassis and body were shortened. Thanks to the special drawbar construction, the trailer ran very stable. The structure only had a double-leaf compressed air door operated from the towing vehicle or a conventional, outward-opening door.

Between 1968 and 1970 the GDR imported P-01 trailers in addition to the Jelcz 043 bus and the Jelcz 021 articulated bus. In total, however, only around 350 vehicles were imported. Another export customer was the ČSSR , where the trailer was mainly used behind the Škoda 706 RTO bus .
