Jenny Rauch

Jenny Rauch ( January 18, 1880 in Munich - April 13, 1904 in Berlin ) was a German stage actress .

Life

After finishing her education in a monastic institute, she went to the stage. She took lessons from Alois Wohlmuth and appeared in public for the first time on December 12, 1896 as "Julie" at the Gera Court Theater . In 1897 she was engaged in Regensburg, in 1898 at the Munich theater. There the director of the Wiesbaden court theater saw her and immediately engaged her on his stage without a guest appearance. The director of the Deutsches Theater Berlin , Otto Brahm , saw her in Wiesbaden and hired her there after she was able to terminate her contract in Wiesbaden early.

She made her debut in Berlin in 1901 and went to the Berlin theater in 1902. In 1904 she contracted an illness from which she died a short time later in morphine sleep at the age of only 24.
