Jens Gieseke (politician)

Jens Gieseke (* 18th May 1971 in Lingen ) is a German politician of the CDU .

Life

Gieseke studied law at the University of Osnabrück as well as in Lausanne and Freiburg im Breisgau. He was a parliamentary consultant in the European Parliament and headed the liaison office of the Airport Association ADV in Brussels.

Since the European elections in 2014 , Gieseke has succeeded Hans-Gert Pöttering in the European Parliament for western Lower Saxony (Osnabrück / Emsland) . There he is represented as a member of the CDU in the European People's Party . He is a member of the Committee on Environment, Public Health and Food Safety and the Committee on Agriculture and Rural Development and the Committee on Fisheries. He is also a member of the European Parliament's delegation to India.

On September 7, 2018 Jens Gieseke was on the state convention of the CDU with a score of 92% as assessor in the state committee of his party elected.

Gieseke is married, has three children and lives with his family in Sögel .
