Jens Hausmann (* 1965 ) is a German musician, guitarist, composer and journalist.

Musically active since 1979, he studied music, English and musicology from 1985 to 1990. He studied privately with jazz guitarists such as Heiner Beringmeier, Philip Catherine , Alexander Sputh , Toto Blanke , Joe Pass and Michael Sagmeister . In addition to his work in various jazz duos, among others with Eddie Nünning , Volker Mengedoht and other projects, for example theater music, he has been mainly soloist since the mid-1990s, but also with jazz bands such as the Jivecats. He has also made a name for himself as a journalist and guitar specialist for musical journals such as Akustik-Guitar .

In terms of style, Hausmann broadened the range with his own instrumental compositions. His fingerstyle style between jazz, latin, classical and folk is shaped in tone and playing style by the classical studies, the jazzy passages are reminiscent of European guitarists like Philip Catherine or Toto Blanke and as a red thread South American elements and flamenco influences run through his guitar playing . While the debut CD was still characterized by bluesy singer / songwriter material from his own pen, the focus is now on the instrumental crossover pieces. In contrast to conventional fingerstyle stylistics, improvisation plays an essential role, the solo album Precious Moments is representative of this .
