Jens Müller (media scientist)

Jens Müller is a German media and economics scientist who works in corporate planning at ZDF and as a lecturer at the private University of Applied Sciences Europe (formerly Business and Information Technology School) and at the Hamburg Media School .

Life

Jens Müller studied journalism at the University of Dortmund , where he also completed his original minor in economics as a second major. He then completed an internship at ZDF . He received his doctorate from the Chair of Economic Policy, where he did research as a research assistant in the field of media management. He then switched to ZDF corporate planning, in which he still works today. At the same time, he continued his work as a lecturer at the International School of Management in Dortmund and at a university in Wiesbaden as well as at other universities. At the private BiTS University of Applied Sciences in Iserlohn , which was founded in 2000 , he developed the media management course and received a professorship in 2002 . In the following years he headed the media department as dean and was the course director for media management , its successor course Communication & Media Management, and accompanied the development of the bachelor’s program in Sport & Event Management as well as several master’s courses. He is now spokesman for the Media & Communication department.

Jens Müller was a co-founder of the ime institut affiliated with BiTS , whose tasks included research and advice in the field of interactive media. He was also a managing partner of the Institute for TV Management in Hanover and is a member of the advisory board of the trade magazine MedienWirtschaft .
