Jeremy West

Jeremy West is a British tinkerer , instrument maker and university professor.

West is one of the pioneers in the revival of the game of prongs in the 20th century. He is the founder and director of His Majesty's Sagbutts & Cornetts ensemble . He also worked in the Gabrieli Consort and Players and The King's Consort . He teaches prong play as a professor at the Royal College of Music in London and at Trinity College of Music in Greenwich. He has also taught courses in Germany, Denmark, Poland, Spain, Japan, Australia and Switzerland. His interpretations were documented on 55 sound carriers. In addition to his work as a musician, he works as an instrument maker. In collaboration with Keith Rogers, he develops and reproduces instruments from the Cornett and Serpent families. West is married and lives in Weardale.
