The Jerry Springer Show was an American talk show that was broadcast on various television channels ( syndication ) on weekdays between 1991 and 2018 . The show was moderated by Gerald Norman "Jerry" Springer .

The program achieved international fame because the guests often dealt their individual conflicts in private relationships and their everyday problems with fights on stage.

Due to weak ratings, the show was discontinued after 27 seasons in 2018.

background

In an interview with the Reuters news agency , Springer stated that he would never watch the program himself and that he was not part of the target group. He also called the show a "silly show".

The comedy film Austin Powers - Spy in a secret missionary position shows scenes with the characters who act in the original setting together with Jerry Springer as if they were guests of the show.
