Jesus Revolution
Jesus Revolution (also Jesus Revolution Army ) is a non-denominational Christian fundamentalist mission organization in Europe , which particularly addresses young people. It was founded in 1997 by Stephan and Anne Christiansen in Oslo , Norway . Since then she has been active in Scandinavia and Europe.
organization
The aim of the organization is to spread the gospel among young people across Europe. For this purpose, the young people are trained in missionary courses. The headquarters and training center are in Oslo. The young people have to pay monthly fees, which, according to the organization, are based on the standard of living in their country of origin. It offers young people an opportunity to work for a year, first attending the mission school and then doing practical missionary work in missionary campaigns and on concert tours. The organization is a mission partner of the Pentecostal European Forum .
The goal is to win young people for Jesus: Through direct discussions in the pedestrian zone, concerts and street performances as well as through mobile teams that visit the local congregations for a few weeks and mobilize the young people there. For example, different teams perform their own Christian musical, which is intended to attract new members from the audience. During their missionary work, they also consciously address non-Christian people - such as Muslims - because they are convinced that Jesus is there for everyone. According to their own information, they have already been to 900 cities and 35 countries with a total of 7,000 young people. The community of young people is also known as the Jesus Revolution Army .
In addition to Jesus Revolution , Stephan Christiansen also founded the Jesus Church in 2000 . She is part of the Pentecostal movement . Anne Christiansen is also a founding member of JesusKvinner , a Christian women's organization.
worldview
The Bible is interpreted literally. One starts from a creationist worldview. The movement advocates a strongly conservative ethic : drugs, homosexuality, abortion and premarital intercourse are uncompromisingly rejected. Stephan Christiansen said in an interview that homosexuals are allowed to come to their events, but are not employed or get into a management position. The reason is that they violate God's words.
