Jevgenij Kulikov ( Ukrainian Євген Леонідович Куликов , Evgen Leonidowytsch Kulykow ; born May 25, 1946 in Kiev ) is a sculptor, painter and set designer .

Life

Jevgenij Kulikov was born in Kiev on May 25, 1946. After completing his art studies at the National Academy of Fine Arts and Architecture in Kiev, he became known for his monumental sculptures on various public buildings, such as his 11-meter-tall Prometheus sculpture (1981) at the National Technical University in Kiev. For his contribution to the restoration of the Kiev Marian Palace , he was awarded the Shevchenko Prize in 1983 .

Jevgenij Kulikov has lived in Germany since 1993. In 1995 he created a bust of Ernst Jünger for his hundredth birthday. A bronze cast is exhibited in the Jünger-Haus in Wilflingen . Recently, Kulikov has also worked as a set designer at the National Theater in Prague.
