The Jezioro Klimkowskie is a reservoir on the Ropa in the Polish Malopolska province . It is in the Lower Beskids .

description

Behind the 36 meter high dam the water of ropa and smaller tributaries is dammed. When the reservoir is completely blocked, it contains 42.59 million cubic meters of water. The water area is then 3.1 square kilometers.

history

The decision to build the dam in Klimkówka was made in 1970. The reservoir was finally flooded in 1994. It is used both as a swimming lake and as a protective storage against flooding and as a hydropower plant.

tourism

There are several beaches and marinas on the shores of the lake, where sailing boats, pedal boats and kayaks can be rented.
