Jiang Yihong ( Chinese  姜鴻波  /  姜鸿波 , Pinyin Jiāng Hóngbō , alternative spelling 姜宏波 , sometimes also as 姜 易 宏 , Jiāng Yìhóng ; born January 18, 1975 in Qiqihar , Heilongjiang Province ) is a Chinese actress .

life and career

Born in 1975 in the Chinese province of Heilongjiang, Jiang began her training at the Shenyang Institute of Physical Education , a sports college in Shenyang , where she played volleyball on an almost professional basis . After her time in Shenyang, she moved to the capital Beijing , where she was accepted at the famous Beijing Film Academy and graduated there in 1997. It was more by chance that she was discovered by the actor and director Jiang Wen , who quickly promoted her talent and brought her to various well-known film productions. Although she initially tended to pursue a career as a professional volleyball player, her professors and fellow students gave her little hope because they viewed the 173 cm tall and 52 kg heavy Jiang as too thin. As early as the 1990s, Jiang gained her first experience in the film and television business, where she appeared in various films in addition to engagements in television series. A few internationally known films in which the Chinese took part include Devils on the Doorstep from 2000, Electric Shadows (2004), Call for Love (2007), Three Kingdoms: Resurrection of the Dragon (2008), Jackie Chan Kung Fu Master (2009) or Ma Wen's Battle from 2010. In addition, she also acted in a number of other films and was often seen in a leading role or an essential supporting role. For her role as a policewoman in the film Jackie Chan Kung Fu Master , in which she first helps the main character of the film Zhang Yishan , only to be saved by him afterwards, she was awarded the Golden Rooster Award in the category: Best Supporting Actress in 2009 ( Best Supporting Actress ) nominated, but couldn't win the award in the end. Jiang currently lives in her new adopted home, Beijing, from where she also works as an actress.
