Jiaocheng (Ningde)
Jiaocheng ( Chinese 蕉城区 , Pinyin Jiāochéng Qū ) is a municipality in the prefecture-level city of Ningde in the Chinese province of Fujian . Jiaocheng is the city center and the seat of the Ningde municipal government. The municipality is located on the Taiwan Strait , north of the administrative area of Fuzhou City . Jiaocheng has an area of 1,537.2 km² and a population of 417,500 (end of 2003, only residents with main residence).
Jiaocheng had a gross domestic product of 2.4 billion yuan in 2002 . The GDP per capita was 10,192 renminbi, around the average for Fujian Province .
On September 1, 2005 , the city district was hit by tidal waves around 10 m high from Typhoon Talim .
Administrative structure
At the community level, Jiaocheng is made up of two street districts, ten large communities , three communities and one nationality community. These are:
- Quarter Road Jiaonan (蕉南街道);
- Road quarter Jiaobei (蕉北街道);
- Greater community Chengnan (城南镇);
- Greater community Zhangwan (漳湾镇);
- Greater community Qidu (七都镇);
- Badu Municipality (八 都 镇);
- Greater community Jiudu (九都镇);
- Greater community Huotong (霍童镇);
- Chixi Municipality (赤 溪镇);
- Greater community Yangzhong (洋中镇);
- Greater community Feiluan (飞鸾镇);
- Greater community Sandu (三都镇);
- Hongkou Township (洪 口 乡);
- Community Shihou (石后乡);
- Hubei Township (虎 贝 乡);
- Community Jinhan of She (金涵畲族乡).
- In addition, there is the (economic) "development zone " Dongqiao (东侨 开发区).
