The Jiekkevárri (also Jiehkkevárri or Jiekkevarre ) is at 1834 m the highest mountain in the Norwegian province of Troms og Finnmark .
It is part of the Lyngen Alps and is on the territory of the Lyngen commune on the Lyngen peninsula . Its summit plateau is glaciated, which is why it is sometimes referred to as the “Mont Blanc of the North”. The first ascent took place in 1899 by Geoffrey Hastings and Elias Monssen Hogrenning. The most popular ascent route is from the west via the 1666 moh. high Holmbuktstind, from the top of which you have an excellent view over the Sørfjorden. In spring, the ascent can be done on skis.
