Jill Esmond
Jill Esmond (* 26. January 1908 in London , England as Jill Esmond-Moore ; † 28. July 1990 in Wimbledon , London, England) was a British actress .
Life & Career
The daughter of actor HV Esmond and actress Eva Moore made her film debut in 1930. A year later she played the leading role alongside Edmund Gwenn in the Alfred Hitchcock film Bis zum Messer . In 1933 she appeared alongside Conrad Veidt in FP1 does not answer . In later years Esmond could only be seen in supporting roles. In 1955 she made her last film A Man Called Peter and ended her film career.
Jill Esmond was married to actor Laurence Olivier from 1930 to 1940 . Their son is the director Tarquin Olivier .
