Jim Chen

Jim Chen (* 1966 ) is an American legal scholar . He is Professor and Dean of the Louis D. Brandeis School of Law at the University of Louisville .

Life

Chen studied at Emory University from 1983 to 1987 . 1987–1988 he was a Fulbright scholar at the University of Iceland . In 1991 he received his Juris Doctor from Harvard University . He then worked at the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit under J. Michael Luttig and at the United States Supreme Court under Clarence Thomas . He taught at the University of Minnesota from 1993 to 2007 and was Dean of the Law School since 2004. He was visiting professor at the University of Nantes in 1995 , at the Heinrich Heine University in Düsseldorf in 1999 and at the Slovak Agricultural University in Nitra in 2000 . He has been at the University of Louisville since 2007.

Chen's work includes administrative law , agricultural law , constitutional law , market regulation , environmental law , industrial policy and legislation .
