Jim Skinner

Jim Skinner (* 1944 ) is the former head of the McDonald’s restaurant group .

Life

Skinner started at McDonald's in 1971 as a management trainee. His career at McDonald's has moved on very quickly. He held numerous management positions.

From 1995 to 1997 he was Executive Vice President and International Relationship Partner for Central Europe, the Middle East, Africa and India. From 1997 to 2001 Skinner was President of McDonald's in all of Europe. He then became Vice Chairman of the McDonald's Corporation. In this role, he managed the operational business of the Asia, Middle East, Africa (AMEA) and Latin America divisions with a total of around 12,500 branches. In addition, Skinner was responsible for all areas. It was not until the beginning of 2004 that he also took over the management of the 4,000 Japanese McDonald's branches.

Skinner succeeded Charlie Bell, who resigned on November 22, 2004 for health reasons (and has since deceased) . Skinner ran the company until June 2012; he was followed at the top of the company by manager Don Thompson .
