Jimm is a free ICQ client for cell phones and PDAs that can connect to the ICQ network via GPRS or UMTS .
The Jimm project was founded under the name MobICQ , but had to change the name due to legal problems with AOL . The abbreviation Jimm stands for Java Instant / ICQ Mobile Messenger. The program is based on Java and can be used on all J2ME devices that provide socket support and have at least 250 kB of heap memory . Among other things, file transfer, saving of the local history, emoticons and the search for and addition of contacts are supported. Jimm is under the GPL and thus meets the requirements of free software.
